Latest from Antigua Met Office

Last updated: 2025-12-12 11:45 AST

Throughout the morning, low level patches continued to move on the wind flow triggering brief showers mainly across the southern leeward islands. Radar imagery showed spotty echoes moving across that area from the east while satellite imagery showed low level patches over the islands. A strong inversion in the mid-levels was seen on the sounding which capped further shower development. Model guidance shows that these patches will continue to move over the islands this evening and bring a moderate chance of brief showers.

Then by tomorrow morning a weak trough approaching the area, will bring a high chance of showers mainly over the leeward islands and increase the chances of showers for the bvi thereafter.

Meanwhile, sea conditions remain hazardous due to long period swells moving across the area. This is in agreement with the latest issued forecast and no amendments are required at this time.

About “de wedda” website

de wedda is the Caribbean way of saying “the weather.” That’s the idea behind dewedda.com: to create a quick, no-nonsense snapshot of Eastern Caribbean weather, with concise forecasts for hurricanes, temperature, and rainfall.

I’ve lived in the Caribbean for most of my life, and when it comes to the weather, I’ve often wanted quick answers to three questions:

This site pulls official data and presents it simply: active storms relevant to our region, positions and distances/directions to each island (based on the capital), plus quick island weather. It’s built to be fast on mobile and updated hourly.

Note: This website does not replace the National Hurricane Center or your local meteorological services. Always follow official guidance and advisories from the NHC and your island’s Met Office.
